MatchCorner — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 9 October 2026. This version supersedes the Privacy Policy effective 25 September 2026.
1. Introduction and scope
1.1 This Privacy Policy describes how Matchcorner Limited ("MatchCorner", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, discloses and otherwise processes Personal Data in connection with the MatchCorner mobile application for iOS and Android (the "App") and the services made available through it (together, the "Service").
1.2 This Privacy Policy applies only to the App and the Service. It is issued in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("EU GDPR"), the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation ("UK GDPR"), the Gibraltar General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2004 of Gibraltar (together, and with any other data protection legislation applicable to the processing, "Applicable Data Protection Law").
1.3 By downloading or using the App you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. Where our processing relies on your consent, that consent is requested separately within the App.
2. Definitions
In this Privacy Policy:
(a) "Personal Data", "Controller", "Processor", "Processing" and "Data Subject" have the meanings given in Applicable Data Protection Law;
(b) "Booking Code" means a code issued by a Bookmaker that identifies a selection or combination of selections, which a user enters into the App for tracking;
(c) "Bookmaker" means a third-party betting operator that issues Booking Codes;
(d) "Install ID" means the random identifier generated by the App on first launch to distinguish one installation of the App from another; and
(e) "Push Token" means the identifier issued by a push notification service to enable notifications to be delivered to a device.
3. Controller and contact details
3.1 The Controller of Personal Data processed through the App is Matchcorner Limited, a company incorporated in Gibraltar, whose registered office is at Finsbury House, 32 Line Wall Road, GX11 1AA, Gibraltar.
3.2 Enquiries and requests concerning this Privacy Policy or the Processing of Personal Data may be sent to [email protected].
4. Nature of the Service
4.1 The Service is an information and tracking service. It enables a user to enter a Booking Code obtained from a Bookmaker and to follow the progress and outcome of the selections to which that Booking Code relates.
4.2 MatchCorner does not offer, accept, place or settle bets, does not provide gambling services, and does not process payments, deposits, stakes or winnings.
4.3 The App does not require registration. MatchCorner does not request, through the App, a user's name, email address, telephone number or password.
5. Personal Data we process
5.1 Device and technical data. On first launch the App generates an Install ID. The App transmits the Install ID, the device platform (iOS or Android), the App version and, where notifications are enabled, the Push Token to our servers. The Install ID is not derived from, or linked by us to, a user's name, contact details or device advertising identifier.
5.2 Data you provide. We process:
(a) the Booking Codes you enter, the identity of the issuing Bookmaker and the matches, markets and selections to which each Booking Code relates. Booking Codes are stored on your device. They are transmitted to our servers, and to the issuing Bookmaker, for the purpose of decoding them, and are held on our servers in association with your Install ID for the purpose of tracking and settling them;
(b) the notification preferences you select for each Booking Code; and
(c) where you choose to submit feedback, your rating, your message, up to three images you select from your device, and your Install ID.
5.3 Data stored on your device only. Your favourite leagues, teams and Bookmaker, display and notification settings, analytics choice and the country used to order Bookmakers within the App are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us. The country is derived from your device's language and region settings or selected by you. The App does not access your device's precise or GPS location.
5.4 Usage analytics. Subject to your consent under paragraph 7.2, the App transmits usage events (such as the start of a session and the App entering the foreground), together with the App version and device platform, to Google Analytics for Firebase. Google may additionally record device model, operating system, approximate country derived from network information and an app-instance identifier. The analytics software development kit incorporated in the App may record limited automatic events, such as the first launch of the App, before a consent choice has been made.
5.5 Server and log data. When the App communicates with our servers, we receive your IP address and technical information relating to the request, including its time and the resource requested, which are recorded in server logs. The App periodically transmits a presence signal containing the Install ID, which we use solely to calculate aggregate usage figures. The App may retrieve fonts from Google Fonts, in which case Google receives your IP address.
5.6 Behaviour analytics. Subject to your consent under paragraph 7.2, the App uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how the App is used. Clarity records the screens you view in the App and your interactions with them, such as taps and scrolls, including any text shown on those screens, such as team names, scores and the Booking Codes you track. It also receives the duration of the session, the device model, operating system, App version, approximate country, an identifier assigned by Clarity to the installation, and the names of in-App events. Recordings are used to find faults and improve the App. They are not used to identify you, and they do not include payment details, stakes or account information, which the App does not hold.
5.7 Crash and error reports. When the App crashes or encounters an error, Firebase Crashlytics records the technical details (the error and where in the App it occurred, the device model, operating system, App version and time) and an identifier for the installation, and sends them to Google so that we can find and fix faults.
6. Personal Data we do not process
6.1 Through the App, MatchCorner does not collect account credentials, names, email addresses or telephone numbers; precise or GPS location; contacts; health or fitness data; payment card or other financial account data; or special categories of Personal Data. The App does not incorporate advertising software, and MatchCorner does not submit Personal Data processed through the App to artificial-intelligence services.
7. Purposes and legal bases
7.1 We process Personal Data on the following legal bases under Article 6(1) of the EU GDPR and UK GDPR:
(a) performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) — to provide the Service, including decoding, tracking and settling the Booking Codes you enter, presenting live match information and delivering the notifications you select;
(b) legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — to secure the Service, detect and prevent abuse, diagnose and remedy faults, including by means of crash and error reports under paragraph 5.7, and calculate aggregate usage figures. We have assessed that these interests are not overridden by your interests, rights and freedoms; and
(c) consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — to process feedback you submit and to conduct usage analytics and behaviour analytics.
7.2 Usage analytics under paragraph 5.4 and behaviour analytics under paragraph 5.6 are conducted only where you select "Accept" in the consent request presented by the App. You may withdraw consent at any time under Profile > Settings > Privacy > Usage analytics, which stops both. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of Processing carried out before withdrawal.
7.3 MatchCorner does not sell Personal Data, does not display advertising in the App and does not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
8. Recipients
8.1 We disclose Personal Data only to the following categories of recipients, each to the extent necessary for the purposes described in section 7:
(a) Google LLC and its affiliates, as providers of Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics and Google Fonts;
(b) Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited and its affiliates, as provider of Microsoft Clarity, which receives the data described in paragraph 5.6 as an independent Controller under its own terms and the Microsoft Privacy Statement;
(c) Apple Inc., as provider of the Apple Push Notification service on iOS devices;
(d) Railway Corporation and our database and caching providers, as hosting Processors;
(e) Telegram, through which feedback submitted in the App is delivered to MatchCorner personnel;
(f) the Bookmaker that issued a Booking Code, to which the Booking Code is transmitted for the purpose of decoding it; and
(g) courts, regulators, law enforcement authorities and professional advisers, where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
8.2 Match data is obtained from Sportradar AG. No Personal Data is transmitted to Sportradar.
9. International transfers
9.1 Certain recipients process Personal Data outside Gibraltar, the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where such a transfer takes place, we rely on an adequacy decision, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK Extension) in respect of certified recipients, or standard contractual clauses approved under Applicable Data Protection Law.
9.2 Our servers and databases are hosted within the European Union, in the Netherlands.
10. Retention
10.1 We retain Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and, in any event, for no longer than the following periods:
(a) Booking Codes and associated selections held on our servers — twenty-four (24) months after the last match to which the Booking Code relates has been settled;
(b) Install ID records, Push Tokens, notification preferences and records of followed matches — twelve (12) months after the last use of the App on the device concerned;
(c) feedback — twenty-four (24) months after submission;
(d) server logs, including IP addresses — twelve (12) months;
(e) usage analytics data held by Google Analytics — fourteen (14) months;
(f) behaviour analytics recordings held by Microsoft Clarity — thirty (30) days from the date of recording, save that Microsoft may retain recordings it selects as a sample, and recordings we mark as favourites, for up to nine (9) months; and
(g) crash and error reports held by Firebase Crashlytics — ninety (90) days from the date of the report.
10.2 Data stored only on your device is retained until you delete it or uninstall the App.
10.3 Personal Data may be retained for longer where required by law or necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
11. Your rights
11.1 Subject to the conditions and exceptions in Applicable Data Protection Law, you have the right to: (a) access your Personal Data; (b) rectification of inaccurate Personal Data; (c) erasure; (d) restriction of Processing; (e) data portability; (f) object to Processing based on legitimate interests; and (g) withdraw consent at any time.
11.2 As the App does not operate user accounts, we identify Personal Data by reference to the Install ID. The Install ID is not displayed in the current version of the App and will be made available within the App in a future version. Until then, requests should be sent to [email protected] and we will take reasonable steps to identify any Personal Data relating to you; where we are unable to do so, we will inform you. Data held on your device may in any event be deleted by uninstalling the App. We will respond within one (1) month of receipt, which may be extended in accordance with Applicable Data Protection Law. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify a request.
11.3 You may also remove a Booking Code within the App, disable notifications within the App or in your device settings, withdraw consent to usage analytics and behaviour analytics under Profile > Settings > Privacy, or uninstall the App.
11.4 You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the jurisdiction of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement. In Gibraltar, the supervisory authority is the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority.
12. Minimum age
12.1 The minimum age for use of the App is the age rating applicable to the App in your country as displayed on the Apple App Store or Google Play, which varies by jurisdiction.
12.2 Where the law of your jurisdiction requires the consent of a parent or person holding parental responsibility for the Processing of a minor's Personal Data, including for usage analytics, behaviour analytics or the submission of feedback, such consent must be obtained before those features are used. If you believe that Personal Data of a minor has been provided to us without the consent required by applicable law, please contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
13. Security
13.1 We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect Personal Data against unauthorised or unlawful Processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, including encryption of data in transit between the App and our servers and the restriction of access to personnel who require it.
14. Third-party services
14.1 The App may contain links to third-party websites and services. Those parties are independent Controllers of any Personal Data they collect, and their processing is governed by their own privacy policies. MatchCorner is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
15.1 We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. The amended Privacy Policy will take effect from the effective date stated above. Where amendments are material, we will notify users within the App.
